Silicone Molds For Concrete Planters

Preparing the mortar:

The mortar that is poured into the mold should have proper peculiarities.
It should contain no or low acid content.
You can seek for a quick set repair mortar in your city.
Using low-chlorine content water rested for a day or two for stirring the mortar, will give better results.
But indeed, applying this is up to you, is not a must.

The mortar should be poured into the mold from a height, with a thin gliding flow.
Use this technique particularly in geometric planters with reverse angles, with narrow mouth.
This way there will almost no air bubbles generated in the planters.
Indeed, some of the producers especially love the bubble holes. Then this technique should not be used.
The mold should be fully filled.
Tap the mold with your fingertips while you fill the mold with mortar.

Process of the preparing the concrete product for drying (setting)

If the concrete planter mold has an outer support shell, the shell should be put onto outer surface of the mold.
The shell can be assembled with file clamps or thick rubber elastic bands.
Please opt for the best choice according to the model you use.
The mold filled with mortar should be put onto a flat surface and left for setting (drying).
The maximum set duration should last only 15-20 minutes depending on the temperature and humidity values of the venue, where the production is made.

The standard working temperature is between 23-25°C.

The outer support shells of the molds are made of organic corn starch.
Therefore don’t leave them in excessive hot venues.
For example, after you pour the mortar inside the mold,
don’t leave them with outer shells in a balcony under the direct sunlight.
If you want to read the details about the outer shells, please read the description in this link.
The shorter the set (dry) time, the longer you can use your silicone molds.
